I should be clear here...I know it's important to do runs at different paces, but I'm not exactly there yet. I pretty much go out there and just try to survive. So none of this was intentional- except for the 2 mile run on Sunday with Corey (who's still working to get to my
And this leads to a fun topic- the importance of clothes! When it's hot outside, sweat-wicking clothes that don't hang on you and get heavy when it's hot out are essential. Here are some of my current faves:
C9 by Champion Women's Seamless Babydoll Tank: cute, comfortable, wicking fabric, and only $19.99. Awesome.
Lululemon Run:Swiftly Tech Tee: This one is superb: thin, flattering and the perfect length. I bit the bullet and bought it in red as a treat for myself for my half marathon. What's bad about it? It's really freaking expensive: $58 for a running shirt. Yep. Don't even try on Lululemon unless you're prepared to get addicted.
Champion Seamless Empire Long Top: Also cheap and super-cute. Doubles as a yoga top for me. Plus Skinny Runner wears them and she's like a running superhero, right?
Nike Tempo Track Women's Running Shorts: Does anyone NOT have these? I was thrilled recently to find some for $14 at TJ Maxx!
So there you go- a few things that I'm loving to help get me through this hot weather. And call me superficial (go ahead, do it) but having cute workout clothes actually does motivate me to work out. So I have to say I think it's worth investing in a few things that get you out there and moving!
One more thing on a serious note- be careful out there. The heat can be scary.
I thought I was going to die last night running. It was 90 degrees and I've discovered that there is very little shade near my apartment. I considered taking off all my clothes and running naked through the streets, but I didn't think my husband (or the general public) would appreciate that very much.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love that Lululemon shirt, btw. I CANNOT start down that road though.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA, I TOTALLY had the same thought yesterday when I was running on the mall...
