OK, that's not entirely true. I did keep a blog for a summer when I was doing my internship in China...but that was in 2007 and I totally stopped after that. So the title is at least kind of true, right?
I guess I'll have to get around to doing one of those "About Me" sections at some point, but for now, a quick introduction. My name is Amy; I'm 31, working in public health and currently living in Alexandria, VA- but not for much longer! My husband and I just got back from a weekend trip to Charlotte, NC where we managed to both celebrate our 1-year anniversary and sign a lease since we're moving in less than 2 months. This is a really good thing for us both since we're orginally from the south and this will get us back closer to family and friends, but I'll really miss both the DC area and the great friends we've met here! That's a big reason why I've started this blog- so I can keep in touch with them more easily. And why "Chasing Amy"? No real reason besides it was a movie and I think it's cute. I could come up with something deep like I'm chasing the best version of myself, but I haven't really thought about that until right this second, so let's not go with that.
I'm a novice runner who just completed a half marathon (and am planning on two more in the fall) who also loves yoga, reading and my 2 dogs, so I anticipate this blog being about all of that in some manner. I also love to eat and try new restaurants, so hopefully I'll incorporate some of that as well! Speaking of, this weekend we ate at 2 great restaurants in Charlotte- Cantina 1511 and Cowfish. We also had a great brunch at Flying Biscuit with some friends- I'm so glad to know that there will be some good food in our new hometown!
I'll leave you with a picture of Corey and me celebrating our one-year anniversary at Cowfish. Up next- the one-year anniversary gifts....
