Not-so-fab Friday

Has it really been a week since I posted?

The good news (for you) is it's not you, it's me. The bad news (for me) is it's not you, it's me.

It's been a tough week. Not mentally or emotionally- on that front I'm happy as a clam- but physically. I've been dealing with a lot of migraines recently which really drain me of any energy. I'm pretty frustrated because I'm not sure why this is going on. I've been trying to do everything right- get enough sleep, avoid stress if possible, exercise moderately, eat healthy foods, limit (but get enough) caffeine- and nothing's really helping. I didn't even go to hot yoga once this week because I didn't want to make anything worse. Anyway, enough complaining! I have a doctor's appointment September 7th (happy birthday, Kelly and Heather!) and will discuss it then. I've been resistant to preventive medication in the past because of various side effects but I may have to explore that this time.

Corey and I went running yesterday afternoon and since I'd been slacking on the blog, I thought we should take a picture first. Please take a look at my handsome husband's attempt to take a nice picture:

On a very happy note, I just found out that I won an entry to the Public Health Matters 5k on Wednesday, September 21st! I haven't done a 5k in almost a year so it should be super fun! Yay!


  1. I just read that sunflower seed butter (like peanut butter) is a good source of magnesium, which helps prevent migraines. Are you taking magnesium supplements? Please note, I am in no way a doctor much less a nutritionist, but I do love reading magazines and this caught my eye and made me think of you.
