In other news, I went to my first ever book club last night and really liked it. We read this book:

Heather had mentioned to me how great this book was, and when I was on the phone with her I got an email that a spot had opened up in the Charlotte Book Club Meetup Group. Unfortunately I didn't get the email until exactly a week before the book club met and I wasn't able to get the book from the library, so I ended up only having a few days to read the book. This wouldn't typically have been a big deal but this book is over 600 pages, so I was definitely cramming and had to do some quick skimming towards the end. It's a great and interesting read, though, and I'd highly recommend it to others!
Off to listen in on a work phone call with colleagues in China. Yay global health!
I read Cutting for Stone in OBX and absolutely LOVED it! I even marked my favorite passage: "The key to your happiness is to own your slippers, own who you are, and own the ones you don't. If you keep saying your slippers aren't yours, then you'll die searching, you'll die bitter, always feeling you were promised more. Not only our actions, but also our omissions become our destiny." Also, Ghosh was possibly one of my favorite book characters ever. So glad you liked it and I hope you had some great discussion in your book club.
